I am a driven CAD / PLM professional with extensive experience with multiple disciplines in the automotive industry. I have consistently utilized my design and CAD expertise to mentor, coach, and train individuals ensuring best practices are met, and that the principles driving those practices are understood.It is said that experience is the best teacher. Have you experienced the reverse; CAD modelers who are great designers, but their CAD skills make their data problematic, reuse difficult or bordering on impossible to reuse? Yes, I know - we all have. I have spent the last 10 years working out solutions to those issues as a CAD Subject Matter Expert.I documented and passed on my extensive experience in automotive seat design and CAD modeling & drawing methods in my role as Adient’s CAD Subject Matter Expert (SME), for the past 10 years. During that time, I brought together, and led, a global network of SMEs collaborating, aligning, and implementing a company wide set of CAD modeling & drawing standards. That achievement aligned the company globally on the ISO drawing and GD&T standard. This involved building consensus across 4 regions and 9 separate engineering technical centers.Prior to that, I worked in nearly all facets of automotive seat design, including Complete Seat development, Structures, Mechanisms (recliners, adjusters, latches, closures, window regulators), Plastic fascias (side shields, back panels, sub-structures), Foam Pad design, Industrial Design Studio, R&D, Production Launch, and CAD/PLM - Advanced Support and Methods Development.Some additional areas of expertise gained prior to specializing in seat design include: Special machine design, die transfer machines, tool & die design, and BIW.
