Mentored and influenced less experienced materials engineers in ETC and refineries.Instrumental in developing Inspection Strategies and Inspection Requirements content and logic as part of the Piping Asset Strategy program. Used leadership and influencing skills to obtain consensus on new approaches that were developed. Audited the execution of program at refineries and provided guidance on improving work product and efficiency. Program has been implemented at all Chevron facilities and the methodology has proven to find degraded areas and decrease incidents.Brought to Chevron coke drum life extension techniques and sold the new approach of coke drum end-of-life management to refinery leadership. Maintained the life management program of all the refinery hydroprocessing reactors. Activities in coke drums and hydroprocessing reactors had an ongoing savings of $10+MM/year. Spent 10+ years supporting the development of ISOAlky technology and associated corrosion mitigation this new technology required. Worked through many technical hurdles to bring a new and highly corrosive process to commercial reality.Other specialties include naphthenic acid corrosion, sulfuric acid alky corrosion, catalytic reformer corrosion, & hydrogen reformer tube metallurgy. Provided expert support & training on sealing technologies (gaskets, flanges & packing) to both downstream and upstream customers.
