Currently Engineering Project Manager for a facility that produces flexible package material for the meat & dairy industry (primarily shredded cheese). We have Flexo Printing Presses built by W & H Corp, several extruder laminator machine centers supported by Davis Standard-Black Clawson & SAM along with numerous rewinders machine centers (slitting and laser scoring capabilities). I manage and oversee our capital & expense projects for the facility. Direct reports also consist of one electrical engineer. Fiscal year spending on capital ranges from $1M up to $6MIn my 14+ years at this facility - I pride myself on helping establish a strong engineering documentation base for the facility's main production machinery as well as the ancillary support systems. During this time we have established a sound and technically efficient maintenance crew that has operated under budget year after year while meeting our projected downtime percentage goals.I believe the knowledge learned while working for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) prior to coming to this facility has been a strong asset to our Engineering/Maintenance Department. Through my time here, I have made countless improvements to operator controls systems without having to use OEM's for the upgrades, thus saving our company in numerous amounts of capital funding. I created a network of PLC connections across a separate ethernet link in order to provide better access to each machine for faster troubleshooting aspects. This link also is tied to a data collection server (Wonderware - Data Historian). This system has proven to be a great asset when narrowing down extrusion process issues.
