Enobosarm, an oral, first-in-class, new chemical entity, selective androgen receptor modulator is being advanced in a Phase 2b trial in combination with weight-loss GLP-1 drugs to evaluate the potential to provide superior quality weight loss for obese or overweight patients by preferentially increasing fat loss while preserving muscle. This could be critical for patients who are at-risk for developing muscle atrophy and muscle weakness. Enobosarm has also been studied in advanced breast cancer evaluating enobosarm + CDK 4/6 inhibitor in a 2nd line setting to target and activate AR in AR+ER+HER2- metastatic breast cancer without masculinizing side effects; first new class of targeted endocrine therapy in advanced breast cancer in decades; FDA Fast Track. Reached agreement with FDA on a single Phase 3 clinical trial design for once daily, oral, first-in-class, new chemical entity, tubulin depolymerization agent, sabizabulin, to expand treatment population to include all hospitalized adult patients with any type of viral induced ARDS including the “tripledemic viruses”- Influenza, RSV, and SARS-CoV-2. In a Phase 3 clinical trial unanimously halted early upon recommendation by the IDMC for overwhelming efficacy and safety, sabizabulin, reduced deaths by 55%+ in hospitalized COVID-19 patients with moderate to severe COVID at high-risk for ARDS and death, in a double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled trial.
