The UK's biggest gas distribution network, Cadent ensures gas reaches 11 million homes, hospitals, schools, offices and many other premises through a network of 80,000 miles of underground pipes and hundreds of above ground stations. In North West England alone, we have 21,000 miles of pipes - if placed end-to-end, they'd run from Liverpool to Sydney, Australia, and back again, with some left over. We have 200 years behind us and many more ahead, as we're central to plans to green the gas grid. Low-carbon hydrogen is on track to land in the North West in large volume by the mid-2020s.
