Brunel is one of the LGPS pool companies and currently manages over £30bn of assets for our 10 client schemes. I am responsible for managing the legal affairs of Brunel, covering both our investment management activities for our clients, as well as a wide range of matters for Brunel in its own capacity. I also lead the Risk & Compliance team, ensuring that we are complying with our regulatory responsibilities as an FCA authorised firm and overseeing our risk management framework.

Corporate Partner - During my time as a corporate partner I was a founder member of the firm's life sciences and funds teams, helping to grow both practice areas into leading practices within their fields, as well as working on transactions in a wide variety of sectors.Some of the standout deals that I led as supervising partner include: - advising BUPA on the sale of its hospital division to Legal & General Ventures in 2007 - advising Eurotunnel on the acquisition of a rail freight business from First Group plc in 2008 - advising the shareholders of The Binding Site Limited, a diagnostics business, on the disposal to Nordic Capital in 2009 - advising the shareholders of Astex Therapeutics Limited on the disposal to SuperGen Inc in 2011 - advising the board on the sale of Brintons Carpets in 2012

On qualification, I initially worked in the banking and insolvency team before moving into the corporate group in 1994/1995 to focus on private equity and M&A deals across a wide variety of sectors.
