The recipient of a bachelor's degree in accounting from Truman State University, Iowa resident Kevin J. Carr earned Certified Public Accountant status in 1982 and began his career as an audit manager with Ernst & Young, where he was responsible for auditing Fortune 500 companies. After seven years working in Missouri, Kevin J. Carr relocated to Iowa to accept a role as co-general manager of Paul Revere Insurance Company. In this capacity, he oversaw the hiring and training of new insurance agents and helped the firm earn a pair of President's Trophies.Mr. Carr worked an additional 17 years in insurance in both Iowa and South Dakota before being hired as chief financial officer and vice president of administrative services with Southeastern Community College in 2014. Through four years in the position, he has generated $40 million in annual revenue, led planning and financing for the construction of new academic and residence halls, and helped save the school $67,000 per year through the introduction of conduit financing to allow for tax-exempt borrowing.Beyond his professional pursuits, he holds board positions with community organizations such as Special Needs Foundation, Great River Medical Center Community Hospice Advisory, and Greater Burlington Partnership Sports Commission. He also recently was appointed president of the Burlington YMCA Board of Directors.
