- Implemented a Snowflake data ingestion engine, which pulls data from multiple heterogeneous organizations within the Pacvue portfolio (via an S3-based data lake).- Implemented a data modelling and transformation layer based on DBT and Dagster that models the raw ingested data into a well-documented and consistent structure.- Implemented an ML-Ops program, based on MLFlow and Dagster, that enables data scientists to effectively develop, iterate, productionize, and maintain machine learning models. - Developed and productionized a novel Sales Estimation Model for predicting the sales volumes of products sold on Amazon, which is used in several core products across Pacvue assembly companies.- Advise engineering teams on architectural and engineering best-practices, and mentor promising young engineers in their personal development.- Advise product management teams on technical feasibility, scoping, and program management.

- Implemented a data ingestion engine for loading data from production databases into Snowflake.- Advised on architectural decisions for a diverse set of technical teams across several Helium 10 products.- Designed a novel declarative data orchestration engine, and developed a working proof-of-concept that was capable of ingesting and transforming several terabytes per hour of raw data in a flexible set of input formats and storage engines, and delivering it to external destinations efficiently.

- Re-architected and re-built from scratch, as an individual contributor, OrderMetrics.com, which was a web application that helped users selling products on platforms such as Shopify, Amazon, Etsy, etc. perform accounting analytics over their data sets.- Developed a fault-tolerant ingestion engine for syncing data from multiple external data vendors, transforming the heterogeneous data into uniform formats, and performing analysis on that data.- Developed technical documentation for over 100 financial accounting metrics relevant to international online retail. - Managed a team of 4 off-shore frontend software engineers during the initial MVP development, and then managed a team of 5 off-shore engineers to support ongoing maintenance until the technology and team was absorbed by Helium 10.

- Performed technical due diligence for acquisition of Helium 10 by Pacvue.- Served CTO functions during acquisition transition phase, while assisting in an executive search for the full-time CTO. - Oversaw the international engineering organization as it grew from 20 to 60 engineers.- Directed the implementation of consistent DevOps practices across the organization.- Presented technical overviews of the organization to support a major capital raise, which succeeded.

- Originally hired as CTO and sole-developer for AddressReport (originally Rentenna), a web app that aggregated real estate listings and public data to provide detailed insights to empower consumers to make informed real estate decisions, especially in the New York City real estate market. This company was eventually acquired by Onboard Informatics.- Performed a full rewrite and modernization (originally as sole developer) of FranchiseHelp, a web application that enables prospective entrepreneurs to research franchising opportunities and connect with those brands.- Developed from scratch Union Square Linens, which was a bulk wedding linens retailer. As part of this project, developed a machine vision technology that enabled the projection of different fabric colors and textures onto photographs, which dramatically reduced the cost of accurately representing visually hundreds of thousands of combinations of fabrics, shapes, and sizes of linens.- Developed from scratch Small Business Post, which was a web portal enabling small business owners to list their businesses for sale to new owners.- Acquired two existing web apps, Dandelion and YC-backed Boostable, that enabled small retailers on platforms such as Shopify, Etsy, and Eventbrite to advertise on social media platforms. - Rehabilitated a damaged email sending domain reputation and developed a sophisticated email orchestration engine that was eventually able to send upwards of one million emails per day.- Hired, organized, and directed an engineering team of 8 engineers at its peak.- Developed product roadmaps in concert with business teams.- Engaged in pitch meetings as technical expert with partners, customers, investors, acquisition targets, and auditors.- Replaced light-bulbs, unclogged drains, ensured team members did not leave their dishes in the sink

- As a fresh college graduate, was given the opportunity to re-architect Workday's proprietary multi-tenant internal search engine from the ground up to address major performance and correctness shortcomings (according to an insider source, this was still being used as late as 2017, shockingly!)- Conceived, designed, and tested a general-purpose mechanism for observing and propagating data changes through a complex proprietary in-memory graph database that enabled for the search engine index to be updated in real-time when search objects changed.- Developed a framework for assessing sensitive information leaks that could occur when searching over data subject to heterogeneous data access policies.

- Worked with a loosely-affiliated team of 4 close-friends to develop experimental technology-based web applications running on a shared infrastructure, based in AWS.- Built a guitar tab application that crawled the web for text-based guitar tabs, parsed the text into a symbolic format, and rendered the output in a more human-friendly format. (This website was quickly shuddered due to threats of legal action based on the intellectual property of the artists.)- Built a web app for performing social psychology experiments relating to the influence of consumer music preferences on human model aesthetics.- Executed various freelance engineering projects on an opportunistic basis, including an MVP for a lead-generation form-building web app, a registration portal for a high school student government conference, and numerous web-scraping data projects.

- As an engineering intern, was given sole responsibility for re-building the public-facing corporate website, working with a copy writer and graphic designer.- Developed an iPad-based tracking tool for collecting applicant contact information at career fairs and uploading to an Applicant Tracking System, while supporting offline use when internet was unavailable.- Acted as team leader for a 4-person engineering intern team in a contest to develop a multi-retailer product search engine for the Next Jump product.- Was the first Intern in company history to win the Next Jump Survivor competition (a multi-week elimination-style competition that, in hindsight, was totally inappropriate for any healthy company to have orchestrated).

- Implemented, as the sole engineer, a novel lot-tracing system for food production to satisfy auditing requirements for a large customer of a local food manufacturer.- Developed a barcode-based sticker tracing system for raw ingredients, equipment, interim food products, and packaged food products that allowed for end-to-end analysis of the food manufacturing lifecycle, using handheld barcode scanners.- This application enabled the company to retain their largest customer, which would have otherwise caused substantial financial difficulty.- Engaged in feasibility study for further development into a commercial product.

- Worked with a small team of student engineers on a web-app that enabled college students at multiple colleges and universities to generate and visualize possible schedules of courses.- As the sole front-end engineer, developed the end-to-end user interface, which was an early example of a pure single-page web-app (back when that technique was called AJAX)- Developed an early open-source framework for animation in Javascript (jsAnim), and an early propriety MVC framework for web app development.
