Co-invented (patent pending) a novel oral sensor for the detection and treatment of bruxism. Involved in product innovation & conceptualization, patenting and writing of successful early-stage funding application and acted as technical advisor.

Osgenic is developing an innovative learning environment with the mision to make surgery safer for patients and surgeons. I was tasked with developing a novel biomimetic product that allows surgeons to perform practical exercises.

My research project concerned the development of a dry microneedle technology-based sensor platform as a means to overcome issues associated with wet surface electrodes in the measurement of electrical biosignals. The project involved bringing the proposed platform from concept, through design, fabrication, to assessment in healthy human volunteers.Notable achievements:Winner of the 2021 Engineers Ireland Biomedical Research Medal competition. The medal is awarded to a PhD-level researcher who had been found to be making a significant contribution to the field of Biomedical Engineering Research on the Island of Ireland.Awarded a Government of Ireland Postgraduate Scholarship to carry out research on my self-proposed PhD project.Awarded an NUI Travelling Doctoral Studentship in Biomedical Engineering to support research in the Harvard Biodesign Lab of Prof. Conor Walsh at Harvard University.
