    My research project concerned the development of a dry microneedle technology-based sensor platform as a means to overcome issues associated with wet surface electrodes in the measurement of electrical biosignals. The project involved bringing the proposed platform from concept, through design, fabrication, to assessment in healthy human volunteers.Notable achievements:Winner of the 2021 Engineers Ireland Biomedical Research Medal competition. The medal is awarded to a PhD-level researcher who had been found to be making a significant contribution to the field of Biomedical Engineering Research on the Island of Ireland.Awarded a Government of Ireland Postgraduate Scholarship to carry out research on my self-proposed PhD project.Awarded an NUI Travelling Doctoral Studentship in Biomedical Engineering to support research in the Harvard Biodesign Lab of Prof. Conor Walsh at Harvard University. (Travel Arrangements had to be Cancelled due to Covid-19 pandemic)3rd Prize for Best Oral Presentation for Biomechanics Research at the 26th Annual Conference of the Section of Bioengineering of the Royal Academy of Medicine in Ireland.Publications so-far arising from this research:Krieger, K.
