Alife Health is developing AI software tools for clinical decision support during IVF. I joined as the first employee to lead data science, publications, and intellectual property, and am currently a scientific adviser.

Dana Solutions was a self-funded startup that developed AI software for life sciences applications, with a specialty in phenotypic drug screening and cell-based assays. We worked with over 20 clients in pharma/biotech, medical devices, academia, and government, and generated revenue from consulting services and SaaS product offerings. As Managing Member I was responsible for company strategy and growth, and technical implementation on a variety of projects involving deep learning for different data types (microscopy, electrophysiology, sensor data) across multiple applications (phenotypic drug discovery, toxicity testing, cell counting, automation, and more). In 2020 Dana Solutions was acquired by Curi Bio, Inc.

At Cellogy I led commercialization of Pulse, a computer vision system for in vitro cardiac drug safety testing, with customers at leading pharmaceutical companies and academic institutes. I hired and managed an interdisciplinary team of engineers and scientists, and managed an external team of consultants and OEM partners. I was also Co-PI on a Direct-to-Phase II SBIR award from the NIH and Co-PI on a grant from the MJ Fox Foundation.

At Auxogyn I created and led development of the Eeva System for non-invasive embryo viability assessment using time-lapse imaging and computer vision. I helped raise Series-A and Series-B financing from top-tier investors, including Kleiner Perkins, TPG Biotech, and Merck Serono Ventures. My responsibilities included hiring and managing a multi-disciplinary engineering team, coordinating with the clinical team to perform a successful multi-site clinical trial, and contributing to regulatory approvals for CE mark and 510(k). In 2015 Auxogyn merged with Fertility Authority and was renamed as Progyny, which went public in 2019.

During my postdoc I worked at the Institute for Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine, continuing the research that was part of my PhD. My research on early embryo development was profiled as a Time Magazine Top-10 Medical Breakthrough for 2010, published in Nature Biotechnology, and led to the formation of a new startup company, Auxogyn.

At Hansen I developed a computer vision-based shape sensor for 3D tracking of robotic catheters.
