He was also a founding team member of the patent licensing program at Microsoft.After joining Microsoft China in 2011, Kevin was instrumental in working with the Chinese regulators and landing several important products, services or transaction in some of the highly regulated industries, including: the Xbox in 2013; and Microsoft Azure and Office 365, announced in 2013 and made general available in 2015; and the antitrust review and approval of Microsoft's acquisition of Nokia in 2013. Kevin also played a key role to make Windows 10 suitable for Chinese government procurement.Kevin was a graduate of Tsinghua University with a B.S. in electrical engineering. After that, he studied physics at New York University under the scholarship award of “China-the U.S. Physics Examinations and Applications” (CUSPEA), a program founded by Dr. T.D. Lee, the Chinese American physicist and Nobel Laurent. Kevin graduated from Columbia University in 1991 with a Ph.D. in electrical engineering, and from Fordham University Law School with a J.D. in 1995.Kevin is a frequent speaker in China on legal, regulatory and policy issues relating to innovation, cloud computing, cybersecurity, IP, and artificial intelligence.
