I commenced at Holden in 1992 as a mechanical engineering apprentice. I then also completed an electrical apprenticeship. In 1998 I was promoted to a Team Leader in maintenance and then a further promotion in 2002 to Group Leader. At present I am a Senior Group Leader and supervise a team of 26 maintenance tradespeople over two shifts. I am responsible for all aspects of equipment maintenance in the General Assembly Plant at Holden. This includes breakdown maintenance, routine maintenance, preventative maintenance and condition monitioring. I plan all weekend and shutdown maintenance work for both my direct reports and contract labour.Previously at Holden I also supervised maintenance and production teams in tandem. These teams consisted of approximately 15 tradespeople (electrical, mechanical and tool-making) and 30 production personnel.
