Sergeant with operational command of a highly motivated/skilled group of officers. I took responsibility for planning and implementation of tactics to disrupt Serious & Organised Criminal activity throughout the entirety of Greater Glasgow Division. Through this work I have became an effective communicator with an in-depth working knowledge of community needs and collaborative working to achieve joint aims/objectives. Through this challenging but rewarding work my analytical skills improved allowing me to make quicker and better informed command decisions but it also helped me better understand emerging crime trends.

K Division Renfrewshire And Inverclyde

I was promoted on to a Response Policing Team within K division. I experienced a variety of incidents throughout my time ranging from taking operational command at local events, taking on PIO command duties at major/critical incidents as well as managing the busy day to day activity associated with being a Response Policing Sergeant. During my time in this role I learned the importance of multi-tasking as well good governance. I ensured at all times that all report related deadlines were adhered to as well as ensuring all mandatory training was completed within the given timescales via Moodle. I understood the importance of self development. I offered my services to improve divisional performance with partnership working. I also completed my operational command and Police incident Officer (PIO) course at Tulliallan. Within K division and across PSOS I was one of the first Sergeants trained as a taser officer (STO). I used the skills gained from this experience to improve my decision making processes as well making the way I manage/record risk more efficient.

Fully qualified Armed Response Vehicle officer trained to deal with Counterterrorism operations as well as pre-planned sporadic firearms incidents. Deployed regularly through the West of Scotland gaining valuable experience in communication while under intense pressure. Due to the nature of the work carried out having a in depth understanding of the National Decision Model (NDM) was key. I use skill to this day when making operational command decisions.
