This position has the responsibility and authority to plan and direct the execution and integration of the over-arching electro-mechanical and software driven platforms. • Directs and controls the activities of the electroc-mechanical and software configured new products and therapies within the field of ENT/NT, Otolaryngology, Neurology, and Spine, having overall responsibility for planning, budgeting, implementing and maintaining costs, methods and employees. • Directs and implements R&D activities for the software and electrical engineering teams, including, but not limited to, systems level architecture and integration, product development engineering, research, basic science, discovery, program budgeting, resource allocation, tactical execution, and prioritization.• Provides leadership guidance, establishment of goals and objectives, adherence to procedures, discipline to a high level of engineering and accountability of direct staff and cross-functional research development teams. • Creates a work environment to foster innovation, creativity and effective use of intellectual property. • Supports concept generation, feasibility studies and prototyping of new devices and therapies particularly the over-arching electro-mechanical and software system integration. Able to assess intellectual property / patents so as to identify new IP opportunities and infringement solutions.• Identifies and assesses new and emerging technologies and therapies and unmet clinical needs. Interact with key opinion leaders within the field of ENT / NT. Attend professional meetings and translate needs into product opportunities. Observe surgery, attend sponsored meetings and meet with potential strategic/business partners.• Interacts with other departments as needed (Marketing, Sales, OPM, Operations, QA/RA and Manufacturing Engineering) to assure effective working relationships.• Drives product development system level integration, engineering, product reliability
