Scheduled newspaper inserts for both the Yakima Herald Republic and also for the Tri-Cities Herald. Tracked, billed, and managed when advertising inserts are placed in the newspaper. Also managed Co-op advertising arrangements by keeping track of accrual monies and allocating reimbursements.Responsibilities/Accomplishments •Updated the tracking system for inserts from a handwritten system on ledger paper to Brainworks, a fully automated system that generates billing invoices and manages client data. This freed up a lot of time allowing me to absorb additional responsibilities, including negotiating advertising contracts for the Majors/Nationals Desk, and implementing changes in reporting advertising revenue.•Held or Increased rates for majority of Majors/National Advertisers.•Used Cost Accounting principles to complete Cooperative Billing for advertisers by measuring ad space and allocating appropriate costs of ads to the appropriate manufacturer. Also research and contact advertisers about new co-op money available for use for advertising.•Have maintained an impeccable record for accuracy. Made sure that orders placed for advertising are billed correctly, and that applicable contract rates are being used in the accounting system.

Worked with A.C. Davis students after school to help improve grades and test scores. Managed, scheduled and trained student tutors for the program, and also compiled library statistics to report to the 21st Century Grant Program.Responsibilities/Accomplishments•Played a key role in running a successful after hour’s program that focuses on providing services to underprivileged students.•Worked with different organizations to secure funding for SAT classes that are offered free to students.•Ensured that payroll and budget information was correct and readily available.•Tracked student accomplishments by meeting with them one on one or in group settings.
