I worked in the Children’s department at the BBC creating HTML apps for kids including the flagship games portal 'Playtime Island', released successfully to millions around the world. This has involved creating apps from scratch in ES6 and Pixi.js.I wrote the first and last line of code on Playtime Island. It had full accessibility to make it available for all, full automated testing to make it bug free, and was full of pink dolphins in snorkels because you couldn't possibly call it Playtime Island otherwise.

- Developed the TV iPlayer app which was released on a multitude of devices to millions. Personally wrote the transport controls, onward navigation, and search sections- Instrumental in the hugely successful Children’s website rebuilds, including migrating the websites and all assets to Amazon Web Services, rewriting the site from legacy code (PHP, FTP) to new technology (Scala, SCSS, Github), and implementing the new backend CMS and migrating over all data from the legacy system- Developed HTML5 games content for all BBC Children’s websites and expanding the gaming templates used by independent contractors using Javascript, Pixi, and Howler- Department Security Champion, ensuring the security of our websites and personal data held- Developed numerous internal tools such as asset management and promotion scheduling software using Angular, Javascript, and Scala- Work using Agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban and paired programming
