This position was held in conjunction with other technical responsibilities and involved providing Functional Leadership to a small team. This included working with team members on setting goals and creating individual development plans for each performance period. Regular, informal performance feedback was given throughout the year with formal verbal evaluations at mid-year and formal written evaluations at year's end. Team members were met with often to provide mentoring and other support for technical and non-technical issues. Also, it was important to maintain an awareness of what team members are working in order to assist with the completion of weekly status reports and aid in the assignment of new tasking.

This was a position assigned on a project-to-project basis and included being the lead Digital Engineer on the associated project. This involved designing high-level architectures, creating schedules, managing a team of other Digital Engineers, performing reviews, providing oversight, and working with project managers to accurately status progress. The position also often included the implementation of said architectures. The designs ranged from Radar Conceptual Design, PCB Design, VHDL Implementation of Control, Communication, and DSP structures, system integration, and production transition and support.
