Kevin earned his BA and BS degrees from Dartmouth University, and earned his PhD from the Biomedical Engineering School of Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. He published over 20 peer-reviewed papers, filed over 50 US and worldwide patents (including over a dozen granted up to now), which constituted almost one third of entire Johns Hopkins IP outputs in the last 5 years. He was an outstanding engineer and scientist with strong intuition. He built 4 medical robots, two of which were licensed by two venture-backed companies as the very foundation for the companies. He finished building an entire 2nd-generation medical robot alone within weeks from design to implementation.He was deeply compassionate and willing to do whatever it took to help family and friends out. People who worked with him were all amazed at his outstanding talents and admired honest character. He loved reading and was extremely knowledgeable about philosophy, art, history and architecture. Kevin loved travelling and hiking, and he traveled to Japan, China, Canada, Germany and all over US. Kevin's dream is to use science and technology to set new effective treatments for patients in pain.
