It uses large and complex data from many sources to inform the public about the US Farm Sector and enables policy makers to make better decisions.I've written extensively on the farm economy and my work is regularly covered by the Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, Washington Post, and the Farm Press. I've presented to audiences around the United States and even Ireland.One of my achievements at ERS was to find new and creative ways to visualize large data sets that encourage users to explore farm-related data. I was part of the team that tested a variety of visualization software for the agency and led the team that created three interactive data visualizations that use Tableau business intelligence and analytics software.I am a SAS Certified Advanced Programmer and use the SQL language extensively to query relational databases, check and load data, and create stored procedures to automate repeatable functions. I'm comfortable with object-oriented programming languages including python. I'm passionate about continuing to learn new skills. To that end, I'm participating in the Executive Training Program on Applied Data Analytics presented by the University of Chicago, New York University, and the University of Maryland. Show less
