I specialize in two specific teaching and research areas: media performance as well as programming and policy. The performance umbrella includes on-camera, voice-over, and live performance. My training processes focus on voice and movement and incorporate many of Kristin Linklater's ideas about freeing the natural voice. On the programming front, I look at radio format development and the extensive history of Broadcast policy in Canada.

Coordination of all part-time studies activity within BCIT's Broadcast & Media Department, including: developing curriculum; marketing; student recruitment; instructor recruitment and development; industry research and development.

Burnaby Campus

The Program Head's role includes administrating and advocating for the Radio program at BCIT. This includes coordinating the faculty activities, including curriculum development and student interaction.

I hosted several different shows on-air, playing tunes and interacting with the public. Some of my more interesting memories revolve around guest hosting on the LG Morning Zoo!

My research focused on government communications policy with an emphasis on the tension between corporate and public media.

I chose a double-major: curriculum development in adult education as well as media studies with a focus on communication theory.
