I'm always working on a new project to learn something new, challenge myself, and hopefully make life a little easier. I started on my career path from a young age, taking apart toys and electronics to see how they worked and if I could improve them. In 2008 I became interested in the hacking in jailbreaking scene because of devices like the PlayStation portable and the iPod touch. After learning about hacking and firmware modifications, I began to branch out into creating custom Linux distributions to run on my Android tablet in 2011. Around that time, I had my first experience with embedded systems via the Raspberry Pi and picked up Python as a way to control the simple robots that I was building with the platform. As I improved those designs, I learned C so I could program lower-level microcontrollers.The first open source project that I contributed to was comma.ai's openpilot, which I became heavily involved in (my major contributions include adding support for cars with Toyota Safety Sense 2.0, adding support for gas pedal interceptors on Toyota, and developing an interceptor device for filtering ADAS messages coming from the driving support unit, as well as porting the code to work on several models of Toyota vehicles.) Using what I learned from that project, I began to work on driver assistance systems for older cars I'm making my own actuators. I have also made contributions to private companies when custom software was needed. Those projects include custom CAN interceptors for a self-driving startup in Estonia (Tal-Tech/ ISE Auto/ AuVe TECH), a custom assembly line instruction viewing system (Metcam), and a MODBUS PLC data visualization "SCADA" system which I wrote with Python and Node.js for the back end and JavaScript for the front end.Feel free to add me, send me an inMail, or contact me about anything!My GitHub is https://github.com/wocsor if you would like to look at some of my work!
