Electrician to Junior Engineer (by selection/award process), furthering my studies, and then being responsible for managing a team of skilled electrical and mechanical services technicians, maintaining plant and equipment underground, and a range of projects, at West Driefontein Gold Mine. I then went on to Join Woolworths South Africa, Head Office, the Store Operations Group. A period of rapid expansion, construction of new stores, and an extensive store refurbishment rollout program. The learning, about retail, operations, the related store design, visits to Marks & Spenser in the UK. And Germany and Austria. A wonderful company. Quality and service.
