    I previously worked for the British Transport Police; I worked within Human Resources specialising in Policy and Engagement.In my role I ensured the Force remained legally compliant with legal changes i.e. with the new Children and Families Act 2014 which allowed all employees the statutory right to apply for flexible working. In addition to the legal changes I worked on assisting the Force in its bid to achieve its 20:20:10 strategic goal, I wrote and developed policies which created the back bone of HR to ensure we had policies that were clear, concise and user friendly. Whilst writing and amending current policies was a large part of the role I had to deal with the consultation process of new policies to ensure what we produced was what the Force required. In addition to policy writing I dealt with general quires from our HR department; I was the single point of contact for HR professionals who needed assistance on the interpretation of the policy or wider law.Engagement within the Force was high on my agenda, I regularly sent communications, the key stories from within the business, changes to policies and any other information employees/ HR teams are required to be made aware of. Attached you will see some examples of my work, I have attached a copy of the latest Maternity, Paternity, Adoption and Shared Parental leave policy. I combined around 6 previous policies to create a new policy which was shorter, more concise, a lot more user friendly and included the recent legal changes around Shared Parental Leave and the hot topic of Surrogacy and who has the right to maternity leave.In addition to the policy I have attached training material that will be used to educate the HR advisors and be used as a source of reference in the future. Copies of the forms that will be used are also attached for reference.
