Responsible for delivering reliable and secure technology solutions that support Los Angeles County’s extensive technology needs, serving a workforce of over 70,000 employees across more than 40 County Departments.• Serves as a secure infrastructure consultant, providing expertise in data center architecture, network security, and cloud technology to multi-departmental project teams and customers.• Designs secure network systems for large-scale enterprise solutions, ensuring that the design criteria meet user requirements and are adaptable to future developments in systems requirements and integrations.• Resolves complex software and hardware issues related to secure network infrastructure, optimizing performance for operating systems, databases, telecommunications, cybersecurity, and storage systems.• Analyzes secure infrastructure performance data and project workloads to support capacity analysis, planning, and management.• Manages projects focused on the development, implementation, or expansion of secure infrastructure solutions.• Evaluates enterprise systems hardware and software to assess the feasibility of utilizing existing products and packages for secure infrastructure.• Reviews and evaluates work and proposals from external vendors to ensure that contract work meets multi-departmental technical requirements and is compatible with secure enterprise architecture.• Develops and presents technical proposals addressing current and future secure infrastructure solutions.

Responsible for managing the daily network operation that is essential to the delivery of regional infrastructure and services improving the quality of life for more than 10 million people in Los Angeles County.• Supervise and provides technical leadership and guidance to a team of network administrators in performing network and server administration functions such as installing, configuring, upgrading, and maintaining hardware and operating systems.• Manages the daily network operation to ensure incidents and service requests are resolved or completed within established service level agreements.• Acts as a point of escalation and senior technical lead for complex network issues, providing structured analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of issues related to hardware, software, and circuit outages that are impacting the department.• Designs and documents complex network enterprise system architecture for the department and reviews systems and projects proposals for compliance with security standards, integration, and compatibility with the current enterprise systems architecture and long-term departmental strategies.• Performs annual budget planning and projections to ensure that staff level and network infrastructure hardware including firewalls, switches, and routers continues to exceed the performance requirements of the department.• Identifies new network technologies and management solutions, builds business cases for adoption, and acts as a project manager during the planning, implementation, and testing phases. Ensure project implementation aligns with infrastructure strategy and roadmaps.• Works closely with capital project managers, application developers, and other business units to understand their requirements and translate those into technical delivery while maintaining infrastructure compatibility and compliance with established information security procedures.

• Provides technical assistance to internal employees and contractors related pertaining to desktop computers, peripherals, and network connectivity issues in a centralized IT high availability environment under the direction of the Chief Information Technology Officer.• Assists senior-level staff with the relocation and installation of HP file servers, redundant Cisco switches, high-availability Check Point firewalls, and redundant network storage devices.• Maintains accurate network topology diagrams. Assist with retrieving documentation, logs, and support files to assist with troubleshooting network issues.• Assists with operating system upgrades and security patches on switches, firewalls, and other peripherals.• Monitors the status and utilization of network devices using the Solarwinds monitoring tool and report any outages to higher-level staff according to established procedures.• Configures and manages Microsoft System Center to distribute operating system and software applications to client workstations. Provide reporting on operating system patches and anti-virus agent updates to ensure workstations and servers comply with the department security standard.• Configures and manages Microsoft Report Services to collect data on clients’ network, hardware, and software utilization. Analyze user utilization reports to help management with hardware and network resource planning and allocation.• Develops documentation on policies and procedures related to system deployment, technical issues, software and hardware configurations, passwords reset, and server access.• Works with vendors to plan and install hardware upgrades for telecommunication devices such as IP phones that enhanced or provide additional functionality to the department.• Monitors and troubleshoots wireless access points within the airport terminal and administration buildings. Investigate reports of wireless coverage outages from passengers and airline employees.
