Underwrite new business, endorsements and renewals within my assigned authority levels for the provinces of Ontario, Alberta and Newfound. Also, review and underwrite risks for a few speciality projects such as vintage car program and straight through processing where brokers are able to enter and issue policies directly on our company portal. Develop and manage a relationship with an assigned group of brokers to develop a profitable relationship. Work with brokers to implement recommended action plans to improve/maintain risk selection, and profitability.

Review and underwrite risks submitted by brokers according to company guidelines. Monitor policies with claims, payment or underwriting issues. Act within authority to underwrite and make necessary exceptions on various risks. Research complex risks to determine acceptability. Develop various training documents to train internal staff and brokers to use our company portal. Train internal employees on the company's mainframe system. Train brokers on company underwriting strategies and insurance products. Develop, monitor, and adjust department workflows.

Assisted customers in benefit enrolment and adding dependents. Navigated multiple resources to investigate customer inquiries on payment and coverage history. Advised customers in selecting insurance plans that met the customers’ needs for medical and life insurance. Explained plan features and benefits for all plans available to the customer.
