Bespoke programming for extraction of archive data from a decommissioned Kerridge Rev. 7 system.Contract ended fairly abruptly when the boss accidentally copied an e-mail to the customer telling me to "take my time" finishing the work. I also sat being paid for 6 weeks on this job unable to access the system because they had removed all my security priveleges after rudely ending the contract 1 week early previously. Never told the boss, didn't have the heart and it was too late anyway! Bit of a cock up all round from Cap Gem here but I earned enough money from this job to save up for a house deposit, something I never thought I would achieve so hurray for management cock ups in your favour!

Gloriously fired from this position after exploiting a security weakness in their software to fix a customer's system one evening because some jobsworth decided they didn't want to give me proper access to the system. After exposing their so-called experts for amateurs, they fired me and actually convinced themselves it would be my loss. Hilarious fun.

Unix support for Vodafone's network of billing servers. Dull as ditch water, one year babysitting a system no one wanted to touch because it ran all the billing and was so critical.

Setup of 15 HP-UX Servers and integration into the billing switch including data transformation and transfer.Those late 90s when IT was booming and the telecomms industry had been deregulated, lots of work to do here and fun times in the main. Company folded in the end because they daftly bought a small part of Motorola to try to expand quickly. I mean, didn't they think why Motorola might be selling it? It was full of wallies obviously! Within a year the whole effort collapsed. I jumped ship after the boss callously sacked my 2 workmates.

Unix administration and shell-scripting, HTML coding and early javascript. Primary responsibility for collecting morning cakes.Babysitted a system for a couple of years but expanded early internet understanding and made a few fun programs.

3rd line support for Unix issues on 1300 Olivetti branch fileservers. The actual worst job I think I've ever had. Never ever work for a bank. Boss was an absolute cretin, routine office bullying. Horrendous. Definitely one to avoid.

Support and Consultancy for an Informix 4GL application running on Unix.My first and only ever job with a company car. I was 20 for pete's sake, what were they thinking? First thing I did was hotbox it, fire it through Buckleberry Ford at 50mph and laughed my socks off when it submerged like a submarine. It broke down in the car park the next day and the owner caught me pushing it out the car park to get it started - oh to be young again.
