Reporting to the Group CEO and shareholders, this number 1 in finance operations role (CFO equivalent) is responsible for all operational aspects of the finance functions globally within the > €35m turnover 300 professional-strong VQD Group.VIQTOR DAVIS (a Waterland Private Equity platform) is your data partner in strategy, governance, management, science and analytics. We offer professional services, knowledge transfer and full-service solutions. We call this Data Craftsmanship.The Group Finance Director role was created, following the sale of Entity Group Ltd (where I was CFO) to Analytics Holding B.V. and the forming of the VIQTOR DAVIS Group. The primary purpose of the role is to build the platform for growth to support the Group Buy and Build strategy.

This role was created in July 16 as the business recognised a need to professionalise the finance function, ready for growth. The subsequent years involved significant transformation for the business, including cost base restructuring, back office and process modernisation and automation enabling first, a founder shareholder exit (via share buy back) then the sale of 100% of the business to Waterland Private Equity before finally the formation of the VIQTOR DAVIS Group.Responsible for both UK and US as well as Group finance functions (all aspects) including implementation of finance systems and PSA tooling and the incorporation of an EU mainland subsidiary.Ran both successful Corporate Finance transactions (including data room and all aspects of due diligence) single handed.At times running the entire function solo and during growth periods running teams in various territories, this role has covered all aspects of accounting and finance from simple data entry through multi currency consolidation and transfer pricing, budget processes and management, bank, PE and statutory reporting alongside senior leadership, commercial negotiation and as business partner to the MD strategic advice and decision making, all within challenging growth environments.

SecureData Europe Limited (now part of Orange Cyberdefense) was, at the time, the largest trading entity in the £33m turnover (£16m net revenue), 157 head, Private Equity owned SDH Holdco Group, which provided IT security services, consultancy and hardware globally for blue chip clients from offices in the UK (Maidstone and London) and South AfricaOn joining SDE, picked up a failing system implementation (Dynamics CRM and NAV) and brought it in to BAUManaging a team of 8 and reporting in to the CFO / COO, responsible for all trading and statutory aspects of the SecureData finance function (management accounts, A/P, A/R, payroll and pensions, statutory accounts, audit and tax) the group accounts, contract processing and purchasing.Additionally held operational responsibility for HR and customer and supplier legal governance and contract terms negotiation (as Business Partner to the sales organisation) renewals tracking and reporting, ISO9001, Data Protection and Company Secretarial compliance.During a potential sale phase, ran 3 parallel datarooms simultaneously for listed suitors, including the preparation and presentation of the majority of the core KPI datasets.

My time with Cision exposed me to all aspects of the finance function of a smaller UK SME as well as group aspects associated with large, global listed organisations.Promotion to Head of Finance positioned me as a key member of the 4 strong Cision UK Senior Management Team and Business Partner to the UK Managing Director. - Restructured the Finance function to better meet the needs of the business. - With the managing director, designed a business plan to re-base overheads to a level appropriate to existing sales contribution. - Following acceptance of the plan by the Group Board at the annual business planning presentations, worked with the Managing Director to further cut the cost base whilst at the same time supporting sales through more appropriate sales metric measurement and by re-designing the sales commissions structure in line with business objectives. - The resulting turnaround took the UK business from a reported £700k loss in 2013 on £4.3m turnover to being profitable in 2014 .Prior to promotion (whilst Financial Controller) managed a small finance team and responsible for the financial integrity of all areas of both the statutory and management accounting, including Group reporting under IFRS to the Nordic listed parent. - Focused on systemisation and standardisation to improve business intelligence and deliver robust outputs. - Heavily involved in the customisation of the Salesforce environment to such an extent that I was given responsibility for the management of the internal Salesforce development team.- Key projects successfully completed in this time included a finance system migration and designing and deploying a renewals automation process.As well as financial and management reporting and compliance, responsible for Corporate Governance being both the Company Secretary and registered DPO

Joined the BDO Gatwick Restructuring team during the recession - a busy time.- Ran the operational Administration of a shipping haulage company;- Supporting various administrations / liquidations including a London design firm, a petrol station company, a CD / DVD distribution company and a manufacturing business- 12 month secondment to Clydesdale Bank's impaired assets team in London, reviewing referred loan files and working together with the Bank to determine the best next steps.
