As a facility maintenance worker, I aim to reduce downtime by taking preventive and corrective measures. This includes maintaining equipment like HVAC, office equipment, and building-specific equipment used in arenas and pools. I also maintain building systems such as lighting, plumbing, electrical systems, elevators, and fire safety. Additionally, I ensure the upkeep of the building's infrastructure, including doors and windows, painting, flooring, aceiling work as well as cleaning and sanitizing facilities. I also maintain nearby areas of the building, including grounds, pest control, snow removal, parking areas, and landscaping.

My current role within the organization is to learn, cultivate my knowledge and skill set and ultimately grow into my future sales position within the organization. My ultimate goal is to continue to grow professionally as my career progresses.

As a part-time field marketing representative I had a great opportunity to learn about the credit card and branded financial product industry while developing my personal selling customer service skills and allowing me to connect consumers to the financial products that will fulfill their needs.

The Meadows Golf And Country Club

Part-time, seasonal employment in the kitchen of a local golf course/banquet facility. I was originally hired as dishwasher but quickly advanced to prep cook then to line cook. Duties included cleaning dishes, cutlery and glassware, keeping kitchen areas clean, preparing ingredients for use on the line, preparing food by order for the restaurant and doing dinner service for buffets and banquets as well.

Temporary employment for Statistics Canada during the 2011 Census and the National Household Survey (NHS). Responsible for delivering questionnaires to homes in rural areas and collecting, submitting and entering the information gathered. After the original survey completion date had passed I was sent out to speak with the people who had originally refused to fill out their surveys. I followed up with these people, both in person and over the phone, to get them to complete their Census and/or their NHS, which was optional. I had one of the highest conversion rates, from non-participant to participant, in my zone. This job required me to be very self-motivated; I educated myself on the Census and on the NHS so that I was better able to answer people’s questions and address their concerns.
