Early Career:Kevin started his career as an intern with Varsity Group, a division under Thomas Nelson Publishing company. He worked here for 2 summers as a door-to-door salesman where he knocked more than 20,000 doors! It was this experience that helped him to overcome his fears and master the tricks of professional salesmanship. Kevin always regarded this experience as one of the most important defining moments in his life as it helped him to look inside and discover his strengths, build his confidence, and learn how to persevere through tough times. To him, this is a life-changing and character-building experience that toughen him up and shape him to become who he is today. Back from USA:After 5 years of studying and working in the USA, Kevin came back to Malaysia in 1997 shortly before the financial crisis. Again, having gone through this difficult times, allowed him to develop a strong mindset and the ability to face adversity. He started as a marketing executive with a telecommunication service provider where got promoted as a marketing manager within 6 months. He was managing a group of sales agents and helping the company to expand its branch networks. Step into the Training Industry:Another important career moment for Kevin was when he got a chance to attend a training. That training opened his mind and made him ponder on his future and what he really want in his life. The idea of becoming a trainer pop-up in his mind and he has found his passion. He started his training career as an apprentice learning from a master in a training company. He spent 5 years with the company where he learned everything he needs to know in training and the industry.Corporate Career: Kevin joined the banking industry in 2004 as a trainer and in total he had more than 22 years of experience in training, leadership development and solution focused coaching. His vast corporate experience has seen him holding a senior role with one of the world’s largest financial institutions. He was the Vice President who heads the Learning & Development department at a major Malaysian financial institution. His outstanding contribution in HR has won him the prestigious Learning & Development Leadership Award at the Global HR Excellence Awards 2011-12. What defined Kevin was his infectious energy, enthusiasm, and positive outlook in life!
