Acting under a Fulbright Fellowship, I was responsible for the instruction and evaluation of over one hundred students with various levels of English-speaking ability. To develop speaking and listening skills in engaging ways, I combined textbook material with self-designed supplementary activities. On average, my students noted that they were 86% satisfied with my performance and effectiveness as a teacher, which was well above the school average. They were 34% more likely to pass their English course than other students in the department.

I established the paper’s social media presence, introducing the publication’s content to new readers on a completely new medium. As a result, the paper grew into one of the most respected publications on campus. In addition, through our effective recruitment and mentorship of talent, it continues to flourish today.

Working in the University of Michigan psychology department, I devised and designed an original quantitative research study on media messages and individuals’ social attitudes for my honors thesis. I administered the experiment’s trials and integrated its findings into an article that was published in the Journal of Sex Research in June 2015 (see "Publications" section below).

While working at this low-income youth center, I taught English to classes of 25-30 students. None of its regular employees spoke English, making me solely responsible for directing my classroom sessions, planning lessons, and tracking student progress. I used creative, self-engineered methods to both excite first-time English students about this language and provide them a foundational knowledge of it.

Teaching English speaking and listening skills at a prestigious private university in Turkey, I worked with full-time teachers to deliver lesson plans that targeted and emphasized students' conversational skills. I prepared my own lesson plans and provided regular feedback on class performance. Finally, I served as a cultural liaison outside the classroom, spending time with my students outside the classroom to encourage them to practice informally and to demonstrate the tangible benefits of English fluency.
