Working in the software department of William Hill Australia I assisted with the implementation of good agile practices, delivery management and stakeholder communication in my role as an Iteration Manager. Initially working with one team, Core Services, I was quickly given the responsibility to oversee the companies newly formed diversification group. This was as a result of the strong performance that Core Services achieved with my guidance in drastically reducing their cycle time, furthermore increasing their velocity concurrently.My initial role in the Core Services team enabled me to show my strong agile knowledge by implementing various techniques including visualisation tools and agile ceremonies that enhanced the reliability and confidence within the team. I additionally was appointed Product Owner, carrying out duties including roadmap planning and backlog refinement.In my role as the Iteration Manager in the Diversification team I had full end to end experience from the ideation stage through to delivery. Moreover I managed communication in a transparent manner with our stakeholders and executive team to ensure that they are kept fully across all developments within the space.

As a Scrum Master I guided three teams in implementing good Agile and lean practices in an effort to improve productivity. The first team's remit was the implementation of a microservice architecture within our Digital Banking suite. A recently established co-located team I had them practice Kanban philosophies including pull development and WIP limits as I believe that this best suits the type of work that they tackled.The other two distributed teams develop Sandstone's banking mobile application. This provided international financial institutions the facilities to engage customers with their digital products via their smartphone and other mobile devices. Originally implementing Scrum, I used the best of a number of practices including Scrum, Kanban and Lean to drive improvement in the productivity of these teams.I was the founder and chair person of the company-wide scrum master community group which meets every other week in order to try and improve the companies’ current agile processes via discussion, observation and experimentation. Furthermore I was the founder and chair person of a Scrum of Scrums weekly meeting that involves multiple teams (five) that seeks to improve the communication and identify dependencies within the Digital Banking department.

I headed up a multi location based report generation product which provides key core business and regulatory reports with data aggregated against a business hierarchy in real time. In this role, I assist in implementing an Agile methodology with two teams, one in London and the other in the Delhi. I am a chair person of the global-wide scrum master community group which meets every other week in order to try and improve the companies’ current agile processes via discussion, observation and experimentation. Furthermore I am the founder and chair person for a London based scrum master group within the company which meet quarterly to discuss location specific issues encountered within the Agile methodology. Working closely with my Product Owner I manage a project backlog in order to prioritize tasks that are needed by our clients/ industry regulators. Regular tasks that are I currently undertake within this role include;1. The organization and chairing of agile meetings with my two development teams, including Project backlog refinement, Sprint review, retrospective and planning.2. An intermediary between the team and outside factors, including the positioning of managerial expectations with respect to time frames of a project.3. Observing the sprint process and introducing improvements to increase productivity, already reducing the release process from a 4 month to once a month cycleThis role allows me to demonstrate my ability to work well with others and my high level of organizational skills that are required to deal with multi-location teams.I undertake this concurrently with my other role as a senior RANarc software developer

RANarc is a new company product which acts as an analysis and reporting tool for our client's financial business. Working in a Scrum development team framework I have the primary roles of analyzing, designing, developing, testing, and documentation of new and existing products. Tasks available to perform include; the transfer/amendment or examining of files, the creation/amendment or deletion of database attributes. This role involves maintaining and updating our bespoke software to handle new tasks and adapt current tasks to remain as relevant as the client’s requirements demand.Programming languages used in this role include - JavaScriptSQLVisual Basic 6VB.Net RANweb is ION tradings’ web based futures trading platform software with the functionality to run or amend reports on live information. Other common features include; Real time access to Profit/Loss and multiple account status for a client and online access to electronic products. The RANsys platform is ION tradings menu driven software that allows for the back office processing of future and options positions. I was assigned to dealing with financial report development. This team took requests from clients who wished to add new functionality to their systems. This involved coding and testing the new software, before releasing to the client. Moreover I offered support of software that is live with the customer, this involves me liaising with the customer and troubleshooting problems that have arisen. Programming languages used in this role include -DCL VAX Basic Uniface. Furthermore I was given the added responsibility of providing overnight support to our worldwide customers where required, a responsibility that is only given to a select number of people. This involved being the front line contact when a problem arises on a clients’ system, and providing a solution to rectify any issue, during out of office hours. As a result of this added responsibility I was singled out and selected to travel to the companies’ office in Chicago, USA to take individual control of our support operations there for a period of 3 months.

Technical support for desktops, laptops and printers. My duties involved troubleshooting hardware/software faults and also configuration issues. Also the setting up of systems over a network was common practice. I have also undertaken managerial roles; including the training of new recruits, and mentoring a full team. I also gained a number of DCSE Certifications (a Dell recognized qualification)

Responsibilities included cash handling, organizing shift rotation, monitoring staff, ordering stock and general bar duties.
