About Kevin Burden
I am a journalist and storyteller at heart, and over the last 20 years I've been helping other individuals and organisations to strengthen their media, production and management skills. Often these people are in dark parts of the globe, facing the toughest imaginable conditions, including conflict, imprisonment and threats to their lives.I specialised as a reporter in energy and environment issues, and for many years I've been working to improve coverage of climate change and the environment. I wrote a peer-reviewed online course which is mandatory for all journalists in BBC News. I'm delivering workshops to hundreds of non-news staff in the BBC and, through BAFTA's albert programme, other news organisations in the UK and worldwide. My virtual university classes in Reporting Climate Change are now delivered in French and Arabic as well as English, and I have been privileged to take some of the brightest graduates to the COP climate summits in Egypt and UAE.I've trained hundreds of journalists to become trainers themselves. I've developed resources including online courses, video lessons and classroom plans. I manage training projects for international organisations. I set up and manage the Media Leaders mailing list, which links organisations with experienced and dedicated media trainers and consultants. Read more at https://groups.io/g/media-leaders
