I am a teacher and entrepreneur by heart, an economist and teacher by vocation and an on-call administrator on the side. My main objective is to help people, of all ages, work together as cohesive teams working toward a common goal. Team members perform well when they believe their work is meaningful, that their imput is important, and they believe they are fairly compensated. A great team leader understands i centive structures and brings out the best in each team member, celebrates the accomplishments of the team and promotes the professional and personal development of all team members. In doing so, we nurture the future leaders on the team who can then better lead through understanding what motivates others. As an entrepreneur, I own and manage a small vacation rental business called Peace on the Prairie. As owner I am in charge of all aspects of the business from advertising, finance, maintenance, general contractor and house keeping. It is truly a labor of love. As a member of the board of directors at Illinois Electric Cooperative my goal is to help foster information based strategic planning and decision making for the cooperative members. Doing so achieves a safe and reliable power supply to the rural community at the lowest possible cost.
