Represented the agency and consulted on gaming issues in discussions and public presentations before legislators, industry and other stakeholder groups. During my tenure as CEO, Virginia Lottery sales grew from $2.1 billion [FY18] to $3.7 billion [FY22] -- an 81% increase. Annual profit transfers increased from $606 million [FY18] to $844 million [FY22] -- a 39% revenue increase benefitting Virginia's public schools. Led the agency’s successful legislative effort in 2020 to eliminate a statutory prohibition on online lottery sales. In 2020, the Virginia Lottery was assigned responsibilities for creating a program to license and regulate online sports wagering and up to five commercial casinos. Despite COVID-related workplace disruptions, we recruited experienced personnel, enacted comprehensive regulations, launched suitability investigations and issued licenses without missteps or delays. Honored to be included in Virginia Business magazine’s 2021 “Power List” of Virginia's 500 most influential business and government leaders. In 2022, a bipartisan resolution adopted by the Virginia legislature commended my role as a "trusted and reliable resource" on gaming issues.
