    I moved to Johannesburg after completing my MBA in order pursue a more challenging role at Workgroup. During my four years at Workgroups head office I headed up three business units. Their Volume Business Unit, comprised of Microsoft, McCaffee, Symantec, Borland, and Corel products. This unit consisted of separate product management teams, parter account managers and a call centre. The Value Business unit consisted of Citrix, VMWare, Novel, and the high end Symantec products. This unit also had separate product teams consisting of product managers, pre-sales technical resources, and internal sales people. We created the original market for VMWare in South Africa at the time, as VMWare did not have in country presence. Lastly, I headed up the IBM and U2 business unit, where we were one of two IBM software distributors in South Africa. We were also the only U2 distributor in Africa and built an ISV market for this database in the region.
