Kevin Hopkins is a Managing Director at Crestone Advisors, an independent Los Angeles-based investment bank specializing exclusively in the software sector. Kevin has over 20 years of professional experience in the investment banking, principal investing, and software industries and has completed over 50 mergers and acquisitions and private placement transactions across the software and technology landscape, comprising over $10 billion in total transaction value.Prior to founding Crestone Advisors, Kevin served as a senior investment banker at Carlsquare, a leading technology-focused investment bank, where Kevin executed M&A transactions and private placements for middle-market software clients. Prior to Carlsquare, Kevin was a senior investment banker in the merchant banking division of Opus Bank where he provided M&A advisory, capital markets advisory and strategic advisory services to growth companies in the software and software-enabled services industries. Kevin has also held previous investment banking positions with Moelis & Company, where he advised both public and private software and technology companies on M&A transactions, and with Citigroup Global Markets, where Kevin provided advisory and transaction execution services for M&A and capital markets transactions for clients in the software, Internet, and semiconductor sectors of the technology industry.In addition to his investment banking career, Kevin has extensive experience as a principal investor. Kevin previously served as a member of the investment team at Stanford Management Company where he helped to invest and manage Stanford University’s $35 billion endowment with a focus on investments in early and growth-stage software and Internet companies as well as limited partnership investments in leading venture capital and private equity funds. Kevin has also served as a principal investor with Dragon Global Management, a software and digital media focused private equity firm, where he managed all processes for potential and active investments. Kevin has also served as an investor relations officer with Electronic Arts, one of the world’s largest entertainment software companies, where he managed all aspects of the company’s relationships with leading Wall Street research analysts and large institutional investors. Kevin earned his M.B.A. from the University of California Los Angeles and his B.S. from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
