At the Community Legal Clinic I was given the opportunity to take point on three cases, two of which went to trial while I was working on them. During this time I was responsible for interacting with the clients and the courts including everything from initial petitions, to discovery, interaction with the judge during trial, and post-trial motions. I participated in interviewing the clients to develop trial strategy and helping them understand and deal with the judgments that were handed down.

Working for Coughlin & Gerhart I had the opportunity to participate in a variety of practice areas in a real in-depth way. I did extensive work with municipal law, developing model laws and procedures that a number of represented municipalities adopted either in whole or in part. While at Chick-fil-A I served as an assistant manager. I participated in Chick-fil-A's management program which was designed to produce managers with better skills in regards to their own team. This program focused on such aspects as empathy, active listening and communication. In my day-to-day work I had to utilize those skills in order to help maintain the operations within a very narrow margin. The ability to assess problems before they started was an essential part of the job.

While at Dunkin' Donuts I served as the acting assistant manager, which was essentially all the responsibilities of the assistant manager without the pay. While I was in Bloomington I was in complete control of a small store within a Kroger, I handled all aspects of ordering, cash management, product management, and employee management for that location.
