Founded Replify, a WAN Optimization software company specializing in Application Acceleration. Raised $1.5m from VCs. Built world’s first virtualized, software-only WAN Optimization solution to market. Built a top-notch product development team and brought product to market and secured first paying customer in well under twelve months. Drove the company to well over $1m in revenue.

Managed Belfast office, responsible for product development team and product direction in WAN Optimization sector. Successfully integrated the Swan Labs team and product into the F5 environment and product portfolio.

Co-founded Swan Labs, part of team that raised $15m VC startup funds.Successfully built product development team in Belfast, focusing on low-level TCP optimizations and application acceleration proxies (including HTTP and CIFS).Brought product to market and was key in delivering several of the company’s biggest deals. The company was acquired by F5 networks in November 2005.

I started with Spirent as a software engineer and quickly found myself managing the product development teams for all Belfast projects. Managed a team of 32 engineers, running 5 concurrent projects into the US.Core projects included developing Layer 2-7 network test and measurement products, focused on ISPs and Telcos. Fascinating projects, ranging from Military satellite simulation to the world’s first 10GigE test harness.
