Hydroponic System Mechanical EngineeringI worked with the Ronin and client teams developing the enclosure for a shipping container sized, commercial hydroponic system. I focused on the exterior cladding, maintaining the ID firm's design intent. I also worked on the mechanical engineering of the 'hidden' entry doors with custom, multi-linkage hinges and latching. Also, conducted global vendor sourcing and BOM management for the project.Fitness Equipment Mechanical EngineeringI worked with the Ronin and client teams designing and engineering special projects and future product roadmaps for a global consumer fitness equipment company. I specialized on the ID interpretation, ME and prototyping of the hand-held weight adjustment and control mechanisms.

At Toi Labs, I joined founder Vik Kashyap to lead the evolving product definition, prototyping and hardware development of the TrueLoo smart toilet seat. TrueLoo is designed to help automate care for seniors by monitoring digestive and urinary health.I helped the startup get off the ground by helping to define the initial device, as well as by raising a part of our initial venture backed investment.I also built and installed the dozens of initial devices that were put to use gathering valuable data in long term care facilities.

I worked primarily with local startups as they entered into the RFQ phase leading though to mass production.Brought my industrial design, mechanical engineering, innovative problem solving skills and project management experience to help ensure products that are manufacturable and functional within an aggressive budget and schedule with a fidelity to the design intent.Worked with a primarily overseas cross-functional Operations Group in developing and implementing long-term strategy and cost savings programs for our clients in the areas of quality, production, supply chain, and engineering services to achieve desired results.Was directly responsible to our clients by reporting on team activities, project status, milestones achieved, challenges faced and mitigated.

Led the development team for a large stroke therapy device for an out of state startup. Speck was the third firm to tackle the challenge and successfully completed our Alpha unit, on budget and following FDA 13485 and IEC 60601 standards.I've developed rack mount equipment for Cisco, managed the development team for a personal hydrogen fuel cell for Intelligent Energy in the UK, designed and engineered several projects for WD-40 in San Diego and led the ID and ME teams that designed the Immersive Virtual Reality system for zSpace in San Jose, the Minecraft Gameband for Now Computing in Barcelona and a medical cart to be used in rural India for a large Japanese consumer electronics company.Responsibilities at Speck evolved into leading projects and supporting the sales team by representing the engineering group to land new clients. Generating project estimates and proposal writing. Helped establish and codified Speck's project management systems and procedures.
