Responsible for sales and store operations for the company, a factory direct, multi-channel business, selling imported kitchen cabinets from its 160,000 square foot assembly and warehousing facility in PA.

Initiated and led several initiatives that significantly improved people selection, on-boarding, training, retention, sales productivity and culture.

• Led store operations, recruitment/training, warehouse/delivery, and real estate function for 150-unit chain. • Directed re-engineering of operations and home delivery function that produced near perfect inventory control and highest ever standards for in-home service. • Developed new best-in-class sales training program focused on customer satisfaction and differentiating the shopping experience.• Created a more responsive sales-driven culture through improved selection, training and motivation of store teams.

• Promoted out of the music division to lead sales efforts in our airport, hotel, and bookstore operations in the eastern U.S. Developed and initiated several training and merchandising programs that improved staff retention, customer satisfaction and profitability.• Responsible for store operations, merchandising and advertising of the Waterstone's Bookstore chain in Boston. Voted top area bookstore by local newspaper reader’s poll while under my management. • Selected to develop and lead west coast acquisition of 62 hotel stores. • 14-unit mall based music store chain DBA Mother's Record and Tape Company.• Directed store operations, sales training, buying, advertising and distribution. Record profitability led to purchase of chain in 1990 to international retailer, WH Smith.
