Participated in and directed execution of system design, design reviews, and system development for operational systems. Regular interaction with system customers, SETA support contractors, and associated development contractors. BEAST Senior Software Engineer. Contributed to studies and software development activities on the Boeing Engineering Aerospace Simulation Tool (BEAST) team. Identified migration path for BEAST towards a service oriented architecture and contributed to initial migration of software architecture. Developed new functionality for operational simulation of C4ISR system of systems.

First full time employee of a small services company that grew to more than 25 people in 3 years. Technical lead for design and implementation of analysis toolkit consisting of several integrated applications. Applied analysis toolkit to support studies focused on system of systems implementation of airborne electronic attack capability planned by DOD. Responsible for recruiting, hiring, and training development and analyst teams. Corporate knowledge base and primary developer for key analysis algorithmic capability of all applications in toolkit and primary toolkit architect. Developed prototype analysis products and software tools used for proposals. Managed the team of analysts and developers as well as all IT processes, hardware, and software needs of the company.

Member of software development team for modeling and simulation of satellite imaging systems. Developed and implemented advanced planning and scheduling algorithms including large mixed integer/linear programs for comparison against current state of the art algorithms.

Developed software to support analysis including new applications, modification of legacy codes, and scripts to automate results generation.

Compression Systems Component Center: As project engineer and team leader for stability monitoring and control, coordinated effort to implement technology developed at United Technologies Research Center into Pratt & Whitney products. Collaborated with interdisciplinary teams to satisfy internal and external (Air Force, Navy) requirements to upgrade products with new technology. Developed plans for technology development, application, and product transition.

Led research programs involving both basic technology development and application of emerging technology to new and existing products. Research was focused on novel control strategies for fluid dynamic phenomena with specific emphasis on control of instabilities in turbomachinery compression systems such as rotating stall, surge, and flutter. Developed advanced compression system models, designed control systems based on these models and their reduced order approximations, and performed experimental implementation and validation of resulting control systems. Collaborated with the United Technologies’ divisions of Pratt & Whitney and Carrier, various academic institutions (MIT, CalTech, UC Davis, UC Santa Barbara, and Georgia Tech), and government institutions (NASA, Air Force).
