I've been passionate about software development since 1984. I've worked in many different industries using a variety of technologies from assembly language and C in the 80s to C++ and Java in the 90's, and .NET/C# today and open source today.No matter how companies try to assembly-line software development, software is a craft. To view it any other way, jeopardizes projects and diminishes the creativity and talent required to build software.Craftlogic was started in 2003 because I saw how so many projects fail. There was always plenty of blame to go around from management, to architecture, to development, to funding. However, it was almost always because of people. Having the right mix of talent and skills on a team and being able to validate and hire that talent is the key to success. Most companies simply do not have a processes in place or the skills to locate, validate and acquire the right talent. We do.Prior to starting Craftlogic in 2003, I consulted for about 10 years for a number of companies in the telecommunications, financial and healthcare industries. In addition to pure software development, I have years of experience in project management, architecture and software development methodologies. It was during these consulting years that I realized software developers were craftsmen. These craftsmen were often under-valued and under-appreciated resulting in project failures.Today, I’m actively involved in technology, an avid reader of technology and I keep up with the latest trends and advancements. I contribute code on many projects and consult on many other projects including project management, architecture, quality assurance and planning. I’m also very involved recruiting process because this is the point which may make or break a project.I firmly believe that the most important asset to any company is the people. I also believe that it takes talent to validate talent. We build software and we hire the best. This is our value to our clients.
