Implemented the Multicast Server (prototyped in Go, production implementation in Java). Delivered the solution on time.• Worked on a team to implement an MPEG-DASH linear video packager written in Go• Implemented an image capture application that extracts I-Frames from streaming video and converts them to still images (PNG’s). These images are then used in a client application as part of a mosaic / cover flow feature.• Designed and implemented a social Video-On-Demand trivia application. As a software engineer I worked on a number of solutions for the nation’s largest MSOs. • Used an in-house SNMP stack to develop a Java and TLX (Auspice proprietary scripting language) based cable modem network monitoring tool used by operation systems support (OSS) staff at the network operations center (NOC). Assisted in the PHP based user front-end. Converted the solution to use MySQL instead of Oracle at customer request. Maintained the solution at the customer site for over two years while working on other development efforts and with other customers.• Worked with an Auspice architect and a team of engineers from a customer to develop a provisioning system to replace an existing legacy system. Responsible for writing modules (using Java and Expect) to issue commands to the Juniper and Cisco switches for provisioning. Used JDBC to an Oracle DB to track workflow and status. Wrote PL/SQL procedures for these calls. • Developed a tool to track cable modem utilization metrics using SNMP and DOCSIS MIBs. Tool was Java and TLX based, and stored its data in a highly optimized MySQL database. Wrote a PHP based front-end to the tool.• Acted as an engineering liaison for Auspice sales staff. Traveled to trade shows, spent significant amount of time at customer sites, and worked on pre-sales proof of concepts.
