On March 12, 2015 I was in a head-on collision while in California on Ortega Highway. I had to be resuscitated two times during the ambulance ride and once more in the subsequent emergency removal of one kidney removal. They also checked for additional internal injuries. Blood products was a part of the process over the next weeks when my brain continued to swell so I had to undergo another surgery to remove part of my skull to prevent the swelling from ending my life. Another surgery to repair a broken vertebra in my back, remove the left side part of my cranium bone, remove it again to address an infection, after that was forced to then replace it. There are plethoras of additional information of what I have been thru.

Being a good role model for the public. Especially for the community of Traumatic Brain Injury survivors and therapists while showcasing that when you have received a brain injury, your life does not end. You get another shot in life.

For the summer of 2014 I worked with Valmont Industries, Inc. in their Tubing division, as a Lean intern. I worked with project management to facilitate the deployment of Lean Manufacturing within the organization, implementing Lean tools to strive for continuous improvement. During my internship I was able to grasp a basic understanding of lean manufacturing principles, and how they are implemented. My responsibilities included the following:- The creation and implementation of standard work instructions for new equipment, specifically steel slitting lines with strand extensioners- Coordinate with the Lean Supervisors to develop work cell design - The use of 5S methodology to implement workplace organization that is sustained by SWI's- Work with the Lean Supervisor and Operations Manager to implement visual management and mistake proofing of equipment and processes.- Training day, evening and graveyard shift operators on the operation of new equipment, using standard work that I developed
