Responsible for a variety of storage and backup related tasks using NetBackup, Quantum StorNext and NetApp ONTAP. Designed and setup multiple Cohesity environments. Perform installation and upgrades to operating systems and maintain them in accordance with established policies, procedures and service level agreements. Perform maintenance and software upgrades. Configured for production Isilon and DataDomains. Run and maintain the daily operations of AltaVault, CleverSafe and Avere systems including system hardware upgrades, Did system testing of Cohesity. Designed, installed, maintained and upgraded Symantec OpsCenter LINUX servers. Designed and installed Symantec NetBackup labs. Assisted with the design of production NetBackup environments as new ones came online and as servers needed to be added as the environment grew Performed capacity planning for Symantec NetBackup environments. Conducted VTL trade study in lab. Build Symantec NetBackup LINUX servers, both master and media as needed. Integrate multi-vendor components and solutions into the optimized enterprise storage network. Build Solaris system to boot from SAN. With the use of multiple disciplines i.e. tape backup, disk-to-disk backups, ensures data recoverability by implementing a schedule of system backups and database archive operations.Designed a backup solution for a Window Documentum environment. Support media management through internal methods and procedures and through offsite storage and retrieval services. Conduct routine hardware and software audits for compliance with client’s established standards, policies, procedures and configuration guidelines.

Responsible for maintaining a 99.99% available, customer facing high volume platform at multiple sites to support numerous high profile customers. Maintained and upgraded infrastructure with no customer impact. Created and updated Standard Operations Procedures and Engineering guidelines. Mentored NOC personnel and provided direction for future activities. Designed, implemented and maintained Veritas NetBackup infrastructure. Responsible for supporting a 9 master, 30 media server NetBackup environment with 5 ACSLS servers in several international sites backing up 2300 + clients. Wrote an in-depth FAQ for the customer web portal including a key troubleshooting guide. Wrote documentation and procedures for both internal and external use. Developed a customer support structure including weekly meeting that reduced the amount of backups by excluding unneeded components while improving backup success rates. Designed and implemented the ACSLS 6.x environment. Developed a plan to upgrade to ACSLS version 7.x. Researched the feasibility of an HA solution for ACSLS environment. Trained new employees in NetBackup, ACSLS, CAM and environment. . As a member of the Employee Opinion Survey committee, brought about improvements to productivity by focusing on morale.
