Kevin Geiger is an award-winning artist, storyteller, futurist and TED speaker developing content across technologies including traditional media, computer graphics, virtual reality, and artificial intelligence. Kevin has built an innovative, eclectic career spanning more than three decades - in roles ranging from artist, animator, consultant, entrepreneur, professor, and producer to executive.At Richard Edlund's Boss Film Studios, Kevin co-developed 3D CG character work for SPECIES: the first feature film to direct a digital actor via motion capture in real-time.At Walt Disney Feature Animation, Kevin created digital characters for the groundbreaking STEADFAST TIN SOLDIER segment of FANTASIA 2000. Kevin was a founding member of the Digital Visual Development Department on projects including Disney’s cutting-edge digital human initiative on GEMINI MAN. Kevin’s leadership on the films DINOSAUR and REIGN OF FIRE led to his CG supervisor role on CHICKEN LITTLE - Disney’s first fully 3D animated feature - where his team devised a complete digital pipeline, retrained traditional artists, and set the standard for cartoony 3D animation.After supervising character R&D on TANGLED, Kevin left Disney for indie ventures as an award-winning animation producer at Simplistic Pictures and co-founder of the Animation Co-op. Kevin was a 12-year instructor at Cal Arts, the first foreign guest professor at the Beijing Film Academy's Animation School, and recipient of the 2011 Beijing Great Wall Friendship Award. Kevin consulted on China's first international stereoscopic animated feature LEGEND OF KUNG FU RABBIT and Africa's first stereoscopic animated feature ZAMBEZIA.In 2009, Kevin co-founded Magic Dumpling Entertainment in Beijing, developing original Chinese family content and leading to his return to Disney in 2015 - where he founded the Disney China Local Content team and created Disney's first original Chinese TV co-production: BAN JIN BA LIANG.In 2015, Kevin resumed his role as a partner in Magic Dumpling while launching the Beijing Film Academy's International Animation & Virtual Reality Research Center and Digital Media School. In 2017, Kevin founded Peewee Frog, a children's content & publishing company.Kevin relocated from Beijing to Taipei amid the COVID-19 outbreak of 2020 and taught as an animation professor at Taipei National University of the Arts in 2021 and 2022. He is currently producing various transmedia projects while exploring AI-assisted content development and real-time virtual production paradigms as Head of Production at tellretell.
