As the engineering manager for the Learning Assistant team:• Managed a team of ~5 direct reports, including interns who later returned to Quizlet fulltime and fulltime engineers that were promoted and/or recognized for excellence in their roles• Coordinated projects and agile processes across functions (product, design, ML/DS, marketing)• Defined, set up, and reported on operational and performance tracking metrics (Datadog)• Guided and implemented parts of the sunsetting of the premium content marketplace

As part of the founding team in the new Quizlet office in Denver, CO I helped take the premium content marketplace from a generalized proof of concept to a test and certification prep resource with new features for studiers and verified content creators.• Optimized product pages for speed and search engine results (SEO)• Built new content bundling options and study modes to increase value and average selling price• Designed and built a flexible content pricing system• Ran A/B tests to determine optimal pricing and purchase duration• In Fall of 2020 I moved to the Learning Assistant team to work more directly on our ML- and learning science-driven study tools.

At HomeAway I architected and developed new products and features for property management companies delivered as single-page apps within larger legacy web applications. I also coordinated communication and built alignment across teams in order to deliver on our organizational goals.• Launched Market Maker revenue management at RezFest 2017 by scaling UI, microservices, and data stores from 1-5 properties per view to thousands per view.• Saved hundreds of hours of work per month with an automated payment reminder and collection service alongside a self-service, responsive UI for guests to resolve payment issues.• Increased booking conversion rate for legacy systems by improving quote-time rate accuracy with web services using a newer and more expressive data structure.• Mentored and gave feedback on junior developers to help grow their skills and careers.

• Streamlined the lead management process by ingesting inquiries from multiple sources and providing a realtime shared UI for reservationists to prioritize, respond to, and convert inquiries into bookings.• Built a customizable and performant reservation grid for viewing availability and creating new reservations across thousands of properties at a time.• Established and led a community of practice for .NET development across teams at HomeAway where we held tech talks, identified and delivered projects for shared components and infrastructure (such as a common deployment platform and a feature flagging library), and discussed tough problems and elegant solutions from throughout the organization.• Presented tech talks on topics such as CI/CD/CO, integration testing, Octopus Deploy, Git, and more.

At Amadeus I worked on many projects across different industries, usually for between 3-12 months at a time.
