I am a graduate student pursuing a masters of science in biomedical engineering from Columbia University. Heading into my graduate studies, I am prepared with an extensive background in undergraduate research, and a bachelors of science degree in civil engineering, from Montana State University. During my final two years pursuing my undergraduate degree, I had the privilege of performing research at the Center for Biofilm Engineering in Bozeman, Montana. My research background is focused on the treatment of water through biological processes. My past research projects include:-Artificial root membrane system, for the natural treatment of wastewater.-Nutrient removal from wastewater via Anammox bacteria.-Heavy metal waste removal via Biomineralization. My experience includes all aspects of the research field, from experimental design, to system and technology design, set-up, and testing. In addition to gaining valuable research/design oriented skills, I also have had the pleasure to work with students and professors across multiple fields of engineering. My research has allowed me to experience a great deal of multi-disciplinary cooperation from the fields of chemical, environmental, mechanical, and biological engineering.
