Facilitate IBM's complex, worldwide operations by managing global compliance for IBM in key areas including sustainability, software cybersecurity (PSIRT), corporate governance, hardware safety and EMC/FCC. Manage contract counsel and retain/oversee outside counsel representing IBM in federal litigation and other matters.Handle environmental legal matters throughout corporation, including corporate ESG, remediation, litigation, net-zero goals, product compliance, insurance, and green marketing (FTC compliance). Resolve legal issues at current and former IBM sites with legacy environmental issues, including negotiating complex land transactions. Initiated review of IBM’s environmental insurance practices, with the expectation of bringing in substantial new recoveries.Addressed legal aspects of preventing cybersecurity vulnerabilities in IBM offerings, including firmware and Cloud software. Track new cybersecurity regulations, and draft corporate policies and external communications. Served as corporate generalist on IBM's Infrastructure team (server and storage hardware) handling general legal and transactional work, including drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, data-privacy agreements, and agreements for the exchange of confidential information (NDAs) with suppliers and business partners.Worked on launch of Reju.com textiles joint-venture, and member of team recognized for 2023 Corporate/Strategic Deal Of The Year ($1B+) by M&A Advisor for work on Watson Health divestiture.

Assistant Attorney General in OAG's Environmental Protection Bureau. Engaged in all aspects of litigation defending the State of New York in trial and appellate courts. Handled dozens of cases involving federal and state environmental laws, including the Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, RCRA, SEQRA, and the New York State brownfield law. Successfully defended numerous state agency determinations on the grant or denial of permits for activities, including: private real-estate developments, solid-waste transfer stations, power plants, and the State’s issuance of state-wide general stormwater permits.Also handled federal constitutional law claims, climate-change issues, and large corporate bankruptcy cases (e.g., In re Eastman Kodak, In re MPM Silicones), and advised client agencies and elected officials on litigation strategy and compliance. Litigated the underwater boundary between Oyster Bay and Long Island Sound, stemming from a land patent issued by the English Crown in 1677.

Member of NYLPI's Environmental Justice Project. Advocated pro bono cases for public interest clients in a variety of settings. Facilitated a meeting of New York City Council members and Deputy Mayor to discuss the environmental conditions of a proposed school complex on a brownfield site, and filed an ultimately successful suit challenging the City’s environmental review at the site. Testified to the New York City Council and answered reporters’ questions on-camera.In January 2007, was awarded a citation from the New York City Council for service to the community through my work at NYLPI.

Handled commercial litigation for multinational corporations in an array of civil matters, including breach-of-contract, bankruptcy, commercial real estate, civil rights, and corporate shareholder suits.Worked directly with corporate officers, board members and in-house counsel to craft successful outcomes in multimillion-dollar suits. Served as lead associate in three-week federal jury trial defending a major Swiss insurance company, which required years of witness and exhibit preparation. Represented an insolvent Dutch energy company, including undertaking an adversary proceeding against the U.S. Customs Service. Performed the full range of discovery work, including taking and defending dozens of depositions. Also supervised junior associates and paralegals.
