Member of the executive leadership team with responsibility for the IT organization at AT&T’s Wi-Fi Services division (formerly Wayport Inc) which provides wireless Internet and distributed enterprise services for one of the largest branded Wi-Fi hotspot footprints in the world. Built and manage the IT organization responsible for internal IT operations as well as the customer-facing production systems that support nearly 36,000 AT&T Wi-Fi public and private networks for major enterprise retail customers such as McDonalds and Starbucks and hundreds of major brand hotels, airports, and stadiums. Fully accountable for IT strategy, operations, application and infrastructure planning, security, outsourcing (including Cloud, SaaS, IaaS, PaaS), staffing, and budgeting for a systems infrastructure that has scaled more than 15,000% over a four-year period and currently supports billions of connections per year. This AT&T division originally started out as Wayport, Inc (a highly successful Austin start-up company) that was acquired by AT&T in December 2008. Promoted to Executive Director at AT&T (equivalent position to Vice President at Wayport).

Hired by this high-profile Austin Wi-Fi startup to grow and mature the company’s IT capabilities and processes to support several orders of magnitude of business growth while simultaneously positioning the company for IPO. Established new best-practices for IT governance, security, business continuity, change management, and information lifecycle management. Partnered with other organizations to mature and optimize key sales, financial, legal, HR, and operational processes. Co-managed the company’s Sarbanes-Oxley compliance effort (Wayport was acquired prior to SOX certification). Also achieved the highest level of PCI security compliance certification (Level 1 Service Provider). Completely revamped the company’s IT infrastructure to support a 50X forecasted increase in business data and transactional demands over the next two years (results: successfully scaled 150X over four years). Developed an IT organization that had a strong reputation for responsiveness and customer service (IT accounted for half of the annual “Corporate All-Star” awards given in the first two years of the program’s inception). Managed all corporate IT M&A activities during the due-diligence and acquisition phases of the AT&T acquisition.Wayport was acquired by AT&T in December, 2008.

Continued to be fully responsible for the IT organization, infrastructure, and overall IT strategy at this newly formed division of Kodak. Developed and implemented the systems integration strategy for the Kodak/Applied Science Fiction merger. Received a Kodak performance recognition award for completing the project on schedule and 12% under budget. Established and executed strategies for the rapid expansion of Applied Science Fiction’s existing sales, distribution, and support systems for the division's software products resulting in a 42% increase in annual revenue for 2004. Recognized as a top 5% performer of all Kodak employees worldwide.

Vice President Information Systems:Promoted to Vice President after delivering several years of consistently strong IT results including establishing a mature set of corporate business systems and processes, supporting an order-of-magnitude increase in product engineering capacity, and simultaneously supporting strong 30% year-over-year growth in international OEM hardware partner contracts and soaring 45% year-over-year growth in software sales. Managed all corporate IT M&A activities during the due-diligence and acquisition phases of the Kodak buyout.Director, Information Systems:Hired by this innovative Austin technology startup to build an IT organization from the ground up that could support the development of ground-breaking digital imaging technologies to be licensed to OEM manufacturers and sold as software applications worldwide. Accountable for strategic IT planning, budgeting, staffing, operations, security, and governance at the executive level, reporting to the COO. Contributed to corporate business decisions and helped develop all product go-to-market strategies. Managed an annual IT budget of $3.1 million while delivering on corporate technology projects with a near-100% on-time and on-budget success rate. Drove continual improvements to the company’s systems, processes, and policies to support high growth and international expansion. Also directly supported international offices in Germany and Japan.Applied Science Fiction was acquired by Eastman Kodak in June, 2003.

Responsible for IT network operations at this industry-leading Macintosh clone manufacturer. Pioneered the consolidation of the network services previously managed by multiple organizations and outsource providers into a single department under IT, reducing infrastructure costs by 30% in the process. Power Computing was acquired by Apple Computer in November, 1997.
